Why LED masks are my favourite facials!
Updated: Jun 24, 2019
Led masks are literally the best non - invasive facial there is too boost your natural collagen production, reduce inflammation and help to heal any breakages, dryness and redness!
What exactly is a LED light?
There are two specific Led lights, Red and Blue. The Red light LED stimulates cellular activity, including the fibroblasts that produce collagen, which gives young skin that plump look. It helps to minimise fine lines, wrinkles, sun-damage and stretch marks. The Blue light is used to treat redness, acne and improves skin texture.
LED stands for Light Emitting Diode, which is a computer chip encased in a glass-like resin, which emits therapeutic wavelengths (colours) of light energy into the dermal layer of the skin.
And how is it used?
Led lights are often used after exfoliation or cleansing and before hydrating the face with a cream or mask. Led lights usually go for a duration of 13 - 20 minutes and its advised to have them 3-4 times a week to begin with and then 1-2 times a week to maintain your glow.
LED is the only aesthetic device that has no contra-indications of any kind which is why its my favourite choice when it comes to looking after my skin! It is good for all skin types, colours and conditions and it is safe for the eyes and it cannot be overused.
Where do I go to get one and how much are they?
You can get a Led light facial at most reputable Skin Clinics. It is often advertised as either a “Led Light Facal” or “Omnilux Facial”, Omnilux just refers to brand name of the machine they are using.
How much are they?
A Led light facial can range between $60 - $120, but often clinics will have regular sales where you can pick one up at a discounted price if you buy 3 or more! I even manage to pick them up for $35 every now and again!
And finally, Led light home masks…
The best thing I ever did was invest in a Led light mask that I could use at home. Its not as powerful as the ones in Clinics but it does the same thing over a period of time and I love the convince of having one at home! I use mine every second to third day and I find it saves me going to clinics and spending all my money!
After doing my research I bought my beautiful mask from Aduro who I believe have the best quality Led lights on the Australian market right now.
